Photographing something new: The Last Corvette

I have been living on the East Coast of Canada for two years now, more precisely in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I always walked by this naval ship the HMCS Sackville, K181, and always wondered what it was about as it’s not an actual working ship.

Yesterday was a really rainy day and quite moody. As usual we were walking by the same place for the 1000th time and saw that it was open for visits and that it was free (by donation). In this economic climate, anything free is interesting and of course, free knowledge. What more do you want?

We climbed aboard… and it was so much better than I expected. (we took the free tour).

It was great to have a guide explain to us the history and function of this ship.

Turns out to be last ship of this kind in the world, which is rather interesting.
