About.

My journey to storytelling began as a child when I was obsessed with home videos my grand father used to make.Broken, blurry, shaky images of a young boy stretching his arms wide over his head, drowsy eyed, looking for this father in his broken toddler speech. I have vivid memories of watching these other wise mundane moments of my childhood over and over again. What were originally simple moments in my life became some of the few moments in my life that will be etched into my memory forever. Most of those video tapes are lost now but their existence sparked in me a passion for recording the everyday.

It was a long time before I had a camera of my own but as a young adult photography became an outlet for all of life’s challenges. Allowing me to be alone with my thoughts, grounded and without having to explain myself to anyone. Capturing the world around me allowed me to be on my own while still feeling surrounded. Although I haven’t always known who I am  or how I fit in the world, I always knew that images and storytelling were in integral part of me.Today, I may be far from the family and island that sparked this passion in me. And I may have grown past some of the teen angst, but I do hold true to two things. That the most meaningful images are those that capture special moments in the everyday. And that photography allows us to capture our own realities and in a single moment tell more stories than any number of books could.

My work today is propelled by my own daily routine. I strongly believe in shooting everyday. Taking my camera along to everything from running errands at the grocery store to the most epic hiking views. Images in whatever form they may be, are my way of life. While I am passionate about exploring simplicity. I also love exploring the unknown and working within controlled chaos. Always willing to take the extra step to capture the story in everything. (Let the images speak for themselves.)
