Fujifilm GFX 50S ii for Travel Photography.

After couple of months of using the fujifilm GFX 50S ii, I think I’m ready to share my thoughts on the camera. It’s still very early to have a full review of this thing as it’s a crazy piece of gear.

The medium format sensor, is just simply BEAUTIFUL! It renders colour in a way that I’ve never had with any camera I’ve used before. If you know my work and personality, I do not really pay much attention to the gear I am using but rather what’s in the frame.

Things like colour science and camera brands are things that I simply don’t have time to think about. I just love being outside with a camera.

Back to the point, I have been using a medium format camera in a way that’s non traditional…

I decided to take it on my everyday life and adventures and even to do my travel photography. At first it felt really over kill to have a powerful system and such high res files to take regular photos.

Guess what, this has sparked a great desire in me to keep shooting more and more. I did not expect that at all. The files kept making me go back to choose the GFX over any other camera that I have. I got very near to selling it until I decided to do different things with it.

There’s no right or wrong way in my opinion. It’s a camera and it’s made to capture moments and whatever you want it to capture. It’s hard to use this camera for work, as it’s really slow and the type of work that I do is fast paced and you can’t really miss shots.

For my passion work, travel photography and all, the slow GFX system is somehow perfect. It makes you slow down a lot and think through your shots like you were shooting film.

I’d highly recommend it.
